50th Birthday Ideas - What Are Your Goals?

I was searching the large world of online info... and came across this article by a newly 50 year old.

What great 50th birthday ideas I keep finding on the internet! This one is about setting 51 goals to accomplish in the next 365 days. I love the idea and wish I had thought of it myself. ;)

The goals are small, easily accomplished in bite sized chunks and it alleviates some of the anguish we feel at turning 50. The idea is to focus on your new life... your new time... another whole year of life!

Stop focusing on all the things we haven't accomplished in the last 50 years of our life.

Also... you can now fine tune what you really want To Do in life. Not everyday... daily lists of chores or work... but real life goals. Small or large... everyone needs a goal or several.

Don't you think this is a great idea?

I am so glad she shared this list with us... it is filled with her great ideas, but you can use it to brainstorm what your 51 things to do in 365 days will be. No go and list your 50th birthday ideas.

50th Birthday Ideas For Centerpiece

A picture is worth a thousand words... and a whole lot cheaper than expensive floral party centerpieces. Creative 50th Birthday Ideas for centerpieces are easy to imagine.

Centerpieces can be elaborate and expensive. Huge floral arrangements that get chucked in the trash at the end of the party.

Why not create something memorable for everyone in attendance?

Using the same photo that was chosen for the birthday invitations... so it's already saved on your computer makes this project so simple... anyone can create them in a flash.

The supply list is simple... but you will need to shop at several types of stores.
  • Glossy Photo Paper
  • Birthday stickers from the scrapbook or craft store
  • Felt tip colorful markers
  • Colorful card stock from the scrapbooking section of the craft store.
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • Small menu stands from a restaurant supply store.
Cut the card stock into about an 81/2" by 11" size and then add a decorative edge to one of the short sides. This can be as simple as a zig zag cut resembling a birthday crown.

Glue on the picture and add some fun birthday stickers.

Use the Felt Tip pens to write a simple message like " look who's 50!".

Create enough of these mini posters so that you have 2 for each table.

Place 2 posters back to back and slip them into the menu stands. This will keep them upright throughout the party.

These little poster stands must be used on a table with other decorations or they will look lost.

Tuck them in between small potted plants... or bowls of goodies to fill our the table centerpiece area.

50th Birthday Ideas don't have to be expensive. These little posters give even strangers something to talk about at the table. Plus... if you have some Older Than Dirt Games on the table... this gives everyone a chance to get to know each other on neutral ground.

50th Birthday Ideas Creating Memories

One of the best 50th Birthday Ideas I've come up with yet... is the Birthday Party Guest Book Shirt. It's a fun way to get everyone at the party involved... and helps set up a rhythm for the atmosphere of the party.

The party honoree... the one who is turning 50... is wearing a blank t-shirt or a t-shirt with something memorable printed on the front and back. White is best, but any light color will do!

The only other item you will need it a pack of colorful permanent markers.

It's an autograph party favor for the guest of honor. Everyone takes turns signing the shirt... yes the birthday boy or girl is wearing it... with their choice of colored permanent markers.

The key is... to make sure that someone is designated to ask all the party goes if they have signed the shirt???? It just isn't as much fun if everyone doesn't get involved.

Letting your guests have free reign with their signature quotes or jokes is all part of the fun. You can't imagine the giggles and laughs that go on while friends are writing on the back of the shirt! This is just one idea to keep your party guests entertained, everyone loves to play pranks and games!

Of course, you should remind everyone that they may also be older than dirt with Over The Hill Printable Birthday Games.

Because permanent markers have been used... the t-shirt can be washed without loosing those precious memories.

The Birthday-ee (my own special name for the guest of honor) may not ever wear the shirt... but don't put it on a hanger in the back of a closet or stuff it in a drawer. If they aren't going to wear this great autograph shirt... then have someone create a pillow out of it for their bed.

It's a special feeling to see all those names of people that really love you and wanted to share your special day... and if it's on a pillow.... then you can see all that love every day!

Isn't this a great 50th Birthday Ideas?
