What follows are some easy to follow fiftieth birthday party planning tips and helpful party ideas that may be useful in putting up a really unforgettable "over the hill" party; The kind of a “older than dirt” party that will surely create wonderful and warm memories for each of the party attendees.

1. Send out invitations. Invite everyone that should be in the know that you are throwing out a special tribute to a guest of honor who will soon be turning 50. Make these invitations something out of the ordinary. Maybe add some twist to it like images of the guest of honor enjoying a good time with friends and family.

2. Collect messages and good wishes for the guest of honor
. A video recording will do the trick. You may feature a short video clip of these recordings while you eat. The guest of honor will be moved with this sweet gesture. Why not include childhood photographs, yearbook photos, and family pictures as well. Then save the movie as a gift for every guest including the guest of honor.

3. To make the event even more memorable not only for the guest of honor but for the 50th party attendees as well, purchase favors for each of the guests. This may come in the form of special designed frames specifying the details of the event. Or maybe specially designed beverage labels for chocolate bars or drinking water bottles that the guests are free to take home after consuming the contents.

4. Serve your guest of honor's favorite foods. The guest of honor will absolutely appreciate this thoughtful gesture and the guests will certainly find out something interesting they didn't know about their favorite 50 year old.
